Parksville Beach Fest: Sandcastle Volunteers + A Note of Thanks
August 12th, 2025
Even though OSRS Friday meetings are on Summer Break in August, we have some news/updates to share:
- Sandcastle Event + Shoutout to the Volunteers/Helpers
- A Note of Thanks to: Simple Home Edit’s contributions to the OSRS Christmas Fundraiser Event
- Friendly Reminder: Potluck Picnic in the Part August 19th (see below)
Parksville Beach Fest 2025
This years Parksville Beach Fest was amazing, and their flagship Sand Sculpting Event was, from everybody I’ve spoken to about it, a great success! The theme was Circus by the Sea, and the sculptor’s certainly embraced it! (My personal favorite was TGIF.)
If you haven’t had a chance to check it out yet, that’s ok! It looks like the Sand Sculpting Exhibition continues until August 17th, 2025 from 9:30 am till 8:30 pm daily.
If you aren’t going to be able to check it out before it ends, that’s also ok! You can browse the organizers Facebook Page HERE, and their Instagram has some cool videos HERE
Special thanks to the organizers, sponsors, volunteers, workers, and of course visitors, for making this special event a great success!
Speaking of volunteers, OSRS had some of our very own volunteers on site. See for yourself!

Some of the Volunteers include: Bonnie, John, Suzanne, Terry, Court, Marijke, Nicholas and more!
If you have some pictures (and volunteer names) you’d like added, please send them my way! I’d be happy to add them. Thank you John/Court for sharing these pictures with us!
