Oceanside Stroke Recovery Society held its Annual Christmas Party/Fundraiser on December 15 at The Bradley Centre.  The hall was beautifully decorated by The Bradley Centre volunteers who continue to volunteer their time and effort, including the use of their hall, each year to help raise funds for therapy.  We are very grateful for their ongoing support and kindness to our members.

This party was the best one ever with a hot turkey dinner at noon.

All eight turkeys were generously donated by Matt Hexter, store manager of Save on Foods in memory of Robb Glazier, who passed away last spring.

Debbie Ayers of Up Beet Eats, cooked and served the turkeys. She donated the  stuffing, cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes and gravy, carrots and peas, buns and butter, with chocolate mousse and white chocolate cranberry brownies for dessert all free of charge to help raise money for our therapy programs. Everything was delicious and we are deeply touched by her generosity to our members.

Eighty one people attended and the silent auction was a great attraction with many beautiful items donated by our members and friends, handcrafted bowls by Gary Conner, charcuterie/chopping boards by John Howitt, basket of Tim Horton products and goodies by our local Tim Hortons, and a week in Hawaii donated by Monk.
Many more items including lots of holiday baking for sale, made by Bernice Prier, our dedicated, long term volunteer.

The party generated $3,379.08 so far. That total will rise after the vacation payment is made in spring.
It was a great way to celebrate the Christmas season, enjoying a lovely, festive meal with friends and family.
