July 7th, 2025

Hi Folks!

[UPDATED July 14th, 2025]:  Jenny shared some of the pictures she took.  I’ve added them at the end as a BONUS.  Thank you Jenny!

W O W! That was such a tremendous Canada Day parade experience and turnout!  Parades are a great opportunity for organizations/people to showcase their spirit, connection to the community, and raise awareness!  The OSRS crew delivered in spades!

So many people were involved in helping make the OSRS float + walking group a great success:  Kathleen, Marie, Jim, Kathy, Suzanne, Batista, Marijke, John, Bonnie, Jenny, Roxanne, Cathy, Roger, Karen, Bernice, Fern, and of course the turtles!  There are more people to thank (since there’s always support “behind the scenes”), if you know someone I’ve missed, please let us know.  It’s no problem to add them!

Also, we’ve got pictures courtesy of Marie, Marijke, Karen, and Jenny!  Check em out:

T-Shirts Available (Thank you Fern!)

Some of you might’ve noticed the Pinnies worn during the Parade.  My understanding, is they include Fern’s artistic expression of both a stroke, and the recovery!

Not only has Fern been generous enough to share her work on the front and back of the pinnies, but she would also like to give OSRS members and friends the opportunity to purchase a similar T-Shirt/Tank Top at cost!

Front

Back

  • T-Shirts:  $35.00
  • Tank Tops: $40.00

If you’d like to purchase one for yourself and/or friends/family, please reach out to Fern directly to learn more about Sizes and whatnot (I will add those details when I get them.  I’m not sure how long these will be available for purchase, so get them while you can!

For folks Financially Strained

There’s a generous and kind group in our community, who understand that times are tough these days.  They’ve offered to cover the cost of T-Shirts for some folks who’d love to get one, but can’t afford it at the moment.  If you’d really like a shirt, and think you might need some help, please let Fern know.  She will take care of the rest.  Special thanks to those friends of OSRS, and Fern for taking on this project!

A Happy Canada Day indeed ☺️
